Texas Shootout PDF Print E-mail
Written by John

Texas Shootout When I was asked if I wanted to work on this site, I was a little hesitant. This is a site for a softball tournament and I don't know the first thing about softball! I'm glad I decided to take on the job for the Texas Shootout.

The softball league already had their own site, so I figured the actual tournament site wasn't going to be all that involved. Seemed like an easy enough assignment. Once the project got underway, things started getting really complicated and involved really quickly. Now with all of the current content and the planned improvements to the site between now and game day, this one could really explode into one of my larger creations.

From a site design perspective, I really like this. The menu bar at the top is unique and fun, and the main body style is simple and understated to let the content really be the main focus.

This site is really packed with features! There's a message board for players and coaches. The tournament registration form assigns the team a user name and password so they can log in for extra content. Once the tournament weekend comes closer, there will be customized content that can only be seen using that user name and password. Live draw postings and weather updates, team rosters and online registration and payment. This site has been a challenge, but a lot of fun. I've met some cool people from working on this site.
